Grade Average Calculator uses standard, widely accepted grading formulas. Below are the references behind each of our tools.

Average Grade Calculator

Open calculator →

Uses the arithmetic mean add all scores, divide by the count. When weights are supplied it switches to the weighted mean: Σ(score × weight) ÷ Σ(weights). Letter and 4.0-scale point inputs are converted to percentages first.

Semester Grade Calculator

Open calculator →

Combines course or term grades using the weighted average: each category score is multiplied by its weight, the products are summed, and the total is divided by the sum of the weights.

Grade Curve Calculator

Open calculator →

Adjusts scores using the curve method you select: Add Points (flat points boost), Add Percentage (percentage boost), Scale to Highest Score (highest score becomes 100% and all scores are rescaled against it), the Square Root (Texas) curve (10 × √raw percentage), or a Custom percentage multiplier.

Final Grade Calculator

Open calculator →

Uses the weighted grade formula, rearranged to find the exam score needed: Required = (Target − Current × (1 − Final Weight)) ÷ Final Weight.

Test Grade Calculator

Open calculator →

Calculates a percentage from points earned divided by total points (or correct answers ÷ total questions), then maps it to a letter grade using the standard U.S. cutoffs (A ≥ 90, B ≥ 80, C ≥ 70, D ≥ 60) with a 70% default passing mark, or your own custom cutoffs.

GPA Calculator

Open calculator →

GPA = total grade points ÷ total credit hours attempted, where each course's grade points are its credit hours multiplied by the 4.0-scale value of the letter grade.

CGPA Calculator

Open calculator →

Updates an existing cumulative GPA with a credit-weighted combination: New CGPA = ((Current CGPA × completed credits) + (Latest SGPA × new credits)) ÷ total credits.

SGPA to CGPA Calculator

Open calculator →

Combines multiple semester SGPAs into one cumulative value using credit-weighted averaging: CGPA = Σ(SGPA × semester credits) ÷ Σ(semester credits).

CGPA to Percentage Calculator

Open calculator →

Multiplies the CGPA by a conversion factor (default 9.5, the equivalence published by India's CBSE board as “overall indicative percentage of marks = 9.5 × CGPA”). The factor is adjustable for institutions that use a different rule.

SGPA to Percentage Calculator

Open calculator →

Estimates a single semester's percentage by multiplying the SGPA by the standard 9.5 multiplier used by India's CBSE board.

Percentage to CGPA Calculator

Open calculator →

Reverses the CBSE-style conversion by dividing the percentage by 9.5 to estimate a CGPA on a 10-point scale.

Marks Percentage Calculator

Open calculator →

Percentage = (obtained marks ÷ total marks) × 100.

Percentage Calculator

Open calculator →

Solves the common percentage forms: percent-of is (part ÷ whole) × 100, and percentage change is ((new − old) ÷ |old|) × 100.
