CGPA Formula
This calculator uses a credit-weighted average of your semester SGPA values.
The calculation is:
CGPA = Σ (SGPA × Credits) ÷ Σ Credits
For each semester, the SGPA is multiplied by the number of credits. The weighted values are then added together and divided by the total number of credits.
CGPA Example
Suppose your academic record contains two semesters with SGPA values of 8.2 and 8.7, and credit values of 18 and 20.
CGPA = 321.6 ÷ 38
CGPA = 8.46
The example shows why CGPA should not always be calculated by simply adding semester SGPAs and dividing by the number of semesters when the semesters have different credit totals.
What CGPA Means
